as of midnight tonight i can no longer eat. i am only allowed fluids for the next 48 hours.
at 1145pm, my husband went into our backyard and grilled me two hot dogs. (isn't he amazing.)
it still hasn't really hit me that surgery is tuesday morning. i have been busy planning my week-long absence. children have been coordinated for the week, and i am so blessed to have so many people in my life willing to help. the best thing anyone can do for me right now is to love my kids and my husband - make sure they are taken care of, fed, and mainly, loved. i'm so grateful for everyone who is reaching out to do this. THANK YOU.
happy mother's day.
i am so grateful to be a mom. and i'm so glad i have the opportunity to do this three times.

The first thing that came to mind was 'what did the neighbours think'. It is not often that the BBQ is fired up at midnight. I am sure that more than one person went to their own kitchen for a midnight snack. Nothing better than a well cooked hot dog. But better than that is your wonderful husband who was willing to do that for you. Love you all, Dani
A hot dog. How fun! I love crazy things at crazy hours. And I have watched you and you are a great Mom. I hope you had a Happy Mother's Day. You were in our thoughts all day. And today and tomorrow also. And that Dad is a great guy too! Love you guys. Grandma & Grandpa
